As blood suckers, fleas can be extremely annoying to both people and our pets. In addition to causing bites, redness and swelling, they are hosts for different species of tapeworms. Many warm-blooded animals have their “own” fleas with high host specificity. As we increasingly like to have our pets at home, the cat flea (Ctenocphalides felis), for example, has become a problem throughout the world. Under the right conditions, a flea infestation can quickly multiply in our homes and apartments and become a problem, which can also lead to high cleaning costs, as well as treatment to eliminate fleas.
